From Breast Cancer to a Healthier Lifestyle
As a breast cancer survivor I have become more aware of the harmful toxins in our everyday lives. The foods we eat, the air we breathe are all culprits in creating an unhealthy environment. Being diagnosed with cancer opened my eyes to the many ways I was leading an unhealthy lifestyle. The candles which I’ve collected and burned I discovered were another avenue of unhealthy environmental toxins.
Building a Cleaner Candle with Thesaurus Candle Co
I soon discovered that the soy candles which I have been burning are soy based- soy = estrogen, and estrogen was the main driving force in my breast cancer. I know that candles did not cause my cancer, but I wanted to try and keep all of my household products ‘clean’ with the least amount of toxins. So I began to research candle waxes which I felt comfortable in using. I discovered Coconut- Apricot wax which is a perfect substitute for the soy candles. I began making my own candles; sharing with family and friends. Thus Thesaurus Candle Co. was born. All of our candles are made with Coconut Apricot wax blend, and all the fragrances are non toxic. And our wicks are 100% cotton. The frosted glass containers and cork lids are environmentally sustainable and the shipping containers we use are biodegradable cardboard.
